5 Things I Love about a New Year!

There’s just something about a brand new year that sets my fresh start loving heart all aflutter! Although my New Years Eve is being spent trying to finish my 80th book of the year and watching Castle before it’s taken off Amazon Instant Video, I thought I’d write a little 5 Things post to get us all excited for what tomorrow brings…

1. That Fresh Start feel!
2015 kind of sucked for me. Some years just do, so I’m looking forward to a new year and hopefully- a better one. Time is an illusion and all that but you can’t deny that the first day of a new year feels different from the others.

2. New Years Resolutions!
I may be in the minority here but I love new years resolutions. I love the fact that the gym fills up, my Bloglovin’ feed overflows and just the general determination of everyone. Sure, some fall by the wayside and by February, the gym is significantly emptier but better to try and fail than never try at all. And some do stick.

3. New Challenges!
Tomorrow I’ll be talking about what I want to accomplish in 2016 and my Goodreads challenge will be set, soon I’ll put up my 2016 reading goals and on the 20th I’ll be revisiting my 30 Before 30 list! I love a challenge, and deciding what I want from the 365 days of 2016 is giving myself a big one.

4. A New Good Things Jar!
In 2014 I started a ‘Good Things Jar‘ where I wrote down little notes of good things that happened to remember at the end of the year. I didn’t do one in 2015 and I missed it, so I’ll be re-starting this in 2016 because gosh knows it’s nice to have a reminder of the good times.

5. Saying Goodbye!
I know at least a couple of my friends and I that would agree, 2015 was the worst. But tonight we say goodbye to the year and the bad times. It’s healthy, to let go of that stuff and it’s hopeful too. So tonight, I won’t regret 2015 leaving us. But I’ll try and remember what I learnt this year and use that to push myself onwards.

What do you love about a New Year?
